ISF Student Wins First Place in Prestigious German Music Competition

Date: Wednesday, June 13, 2018

Natsuki Ida, a 9th grader pianist at the International School of Frankfurt Rhein-Main, a SABIS® school in Germany, competed in the prestigious German “Jugend musiziert” competition in Lübeck which took place from May 17-24. The competition, which has been running for 55 years and attracts talented musicians from around Germany, brought together 2600 participants this year. Natsuki, along with her cellist partner, Marie Braun, won first prize in her age group in the category “Piano with Strings” out of 70 participants. The competition was fierce but she was very surprised and equally delighted to win.

Natsuki started playing the piano when she was four years old. She practices around three hours a day and even more during the weekends. She has competed in several regional competitions but this is the first national competition for her. She loves playing the piano as she can express herself through music. Her favourite composer is Chopin and her ambition is to become a concert pianist.

We would like to congratulate Natsuki on this fantastic achievement!
