MAIA Marching Band Wins First Place at Two State Band Competitions

Mt. Auburn International Academy (MAIA), a SABIS® charter school located in Cincinnati, Ohio, recently won first place in two marching band competitions held in Michigan and Ohio for the 2016-2017 academic school year.
MAIA’s marching band received a 1st place award out of 10 bands competing at a band competition in Oak Park, MI, held on April 30, 2016. The MAIA band also won 1st place at the band competition held on May 7, 2016, in Trotwood, Ohio. A total of four bands competed.
The MAIA marching band was formed in 2013 and currently consists of 40 students in grades 5 to 12. Students spend 3 days per week after school practicing as a band in addition to practicing twice a week during Student Life periods.
